Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Ironworker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in structural steel and ironwork, demonstrating proficiency in both the installation and repair of metal structures. This role requires physical stamina, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. As an Ironworker, you will play a crucial role in the construction and maintenance of buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Install and connect steel beams, columns, and girders to form the framework of structures. Use power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, and weld metal components as required. Perform heavy lifting tasks to position steel components accurately on-site. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and masons, to ensure seamless integration of materials. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand project specifications. Conduct regular inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various power tools and hand tools safely. Experience with welding techniques is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly throughout the workday. Familiarity with commercial driving is advantageous for transporting materials when necessary. Previous experience working on roofs or elevated structures is beneficial. A valid driver's licence is preferred but not essential. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
