Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Steel Fixer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction and metalwork, demonstrating proficiency in various techniques and tools essential for the tying steel. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards.

Responsibilities

Fabricate, assemble, and install metal structures, including beams, columns, and frameworks. Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications and layout. Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for cutting, shaping, and welding materials. Perform heavy lifting as required to move materials into position. Collaborate with other construction professionals, including carpenters and masons, to ensure project completion. Conduct inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organised work environment. Assist in the training of new team members on best practices in ironworking.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Steel Fixer or in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. CSCS Card is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 kg) consistently throughout the workday. Competence in using both power tools and hand tools effectively. Previous experience working on roofs or elevated structures is advantageous. Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on communication and collaboration.
