Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Ironworker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural steel and metal fabrication, with the ability to work on various construction projects. This role requires physical strength, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency in using both hand and power tools. The Ironworker will be responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing iron and steel structures, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

Assemble and erect structural steel frameworks for buildings, bridges, and other structures. Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and weld metal components. Perform heavy lifting tasks as required to position steel beams and columns. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and masons, to complete projects efficiently. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct regular inspections of completed work to ensure quality control. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to operate various power tools effectively. Experience with heavy lifting techniques and physical stamina for demanding tasks. Familiarity with roofing systems is advantageous but not essential. Basic carpentry skills are a plus for assisting with structural installations. Knowledge of masonry techniques can be beneficial for specific projects. A valid commercial driving licence is preferred for transporting materials to job sites. Ability to work at heights safely and adhere to all safety protocols.
