PIC is looking for a PMO Delivery Specialist to partner with the Portfolio and Project Managers across the Shared Services functions. PIC's projects are grouped in capabilities, with a portfolio manager overseeing each. The PMO specialist will be embedded in the Shared Services capability and will work closely with the portfolio manager and project managers to ensure the safe, efficient and successful delivery of change outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Work as a trusted partner with a Portfolio manager to take accountability for the secure delivery of projects within each area. Analysing and interpreting the information from areas responsible for, and translating that into decision making, recommendations and actions.
Work closely with the central Strategic Transformation Office (STO), reporting on projects in the capability, and informing portfolio analysis
Act as an SME for change processes, templates and the change framework, advising delivery teams on how to navigate it, our governance and controls
Collating, analysing, challenging and interpreting project and programme reports to produce portfolio views and recommendations
Play an active part in the continuous improvement of the Change function, taking responsibility for developing better processes based on knowledge and experience of portfolio management.
Roll out processes including training and communication plans
Steering committees - work with PMs to produce high quality steering committee papers, organise and minute the meetings, and update the central STO on discussions.
Requirements
Knowledge, experience, skills and abilities
Technical
Knowledge of a range of portfolio management methodologies including waterfall, agile, and hybrid models of change within an Operations environment
Knowledge of enterprise and delivery PMO best practice
Experience of working with PPM tools, ideally ServiceNow
Experience of creating and rolling out new processes, including training and comms materials
Personal
Ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level
Pragmatic and hands on approach. Willing to get involved in writing and creating project materials
Ability to constructively challenge colleagues, and work with them to produce solutions to issues.
Recognise patterns, trends and themes that emerge from different data sources, including their impact on the portfolio
Able to interpret information and produce recommendations and strengthen decision making
Experience working with stakeholders at all levels of the business
Experience in developing sponsor and stakeholder relationships with the ability to persuade and influence both directly and indirectly
