Are you an experienced Stock Controller looking for a role where you can take true ownership and shape a department according to your vision? Are you tired of just following processes and want the opportunity to create and refine them? If so, we want to hear from you.
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Stock Controller to join our Operations team. This is a crucial standalone role where you will be responsible for the entire stores and inventory function, reporting directly to the Warehouse Director. Your Key Responsibilities will include:
Managing all day-to-day operations of the stores department.
Overseeing the accurate receipt, inspection, storage, and issuing of all parts and materials for production, service engineers, and customer sales.
Proactively managing inventory by analysing historical data, forecasting future demand, and placing purchase orders with suppliers.
Setting and maintaining minimum/maximum re-order points to ensure optimal stock availability.
Maintaining the accuracy of the computerised stock control system.
Conducting regular stock checks, assisting with the annual stocktake, and identifying any obsolete stock.
Liaising with suppliers to confirm lead times, track orders, and resolve delivery issues.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
Proven experience in a stores, warehouse, or stock control role.
Demonstrable experience in inventory management, including forecasting and procurement/ordering.
A high level of proficiency with computerised stock control systems.
Strong analytical and numerical skills, combined with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently and take initiative.
A proactive and positive "can-do" attitude and a methodical approach to work.
Desirable, but not essential:
Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
A valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
What We Offer:
A competitive starting salary of 30,000, dependent on experience.
Excellent work-life balance: sociable working hours of 07:30 to 16:30, Monday to Friday. No evenings or weekends.
The autonomy to control and shape the company's stores and inventory function.
A key role in a busy and successful operations department.
If you are an experienced Stock Controller with a clear vision for how a modern, efficient stores department should run, we encourage you to apply today.
