USP Steels are looking for a Stock Controller to join our team and support the effective management and integrity of our stock. This role is key to ensuring accurate stock records, efficient material flow, and high standards across our operations.
As a Stock Controller, you will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and managing stock to ensure accuracy, traceability, and availability in line with business and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and control incoming, existing, and outgoing stock to ensure accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
Carry out regular stock inspections and stock counts, with a strong focus on coils and high-value materials.
Maintain accurate stock records within internal systems, reporting any discrepancies or variances.
Identify, record, and report damaged, non-conforming, or slow-moving stock to management.
Liaise with operations, sales, and logistics teams to support stock availability and order fulfilment.
Assist with stock investigations, adjustments, and reconciliations as required.
Ensure all stock movements are properly documented and traceable.
Support continuous improvement of stock control processes and procedures.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in stock control, inventory management, or warehouse operations.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Confident communicator with clear reporting skills.
Experience within the steel industry or handling coils is preferable.
A commercial mindset and understanding of stock value is a plus.
Familiarity with stock management systems and basic quality or ISO procedures is beneficial.
