Full Time:

Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week.

Salary:

28,000 - 32,000 Depending On Experience

Holiday:

29 days per annum (includes Bank Holidays)

Reports to:

Operations Manager

Purpose of the job:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory levels, ensuring stock accuracy, supporting production efficiency, and assisting with purchasing activities. A quick-thinking, computer-literate individual with strong organisational skills will thrive in this role.

Key Responsibilities:




Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels across raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

Perform regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies.

Liaise with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of materials.

Raise purchase orders and ensure they are processed in line with company procedures.

Chase outstanding purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.

Investigate and resolve stock and delivery issues quickly and efficiently.

Receive stock, check quantity and quality, and sign off delivery notes.

Manage stock returns and coordinate with suppliers as needed.

Support audits and ensure compliance with internal stock control and purchasing procedures.

Maintain a clean and organised stock area.

Issue stock and track usage daily

The ideal candidate requirements:




Previous experience in a stock control or inventory role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.

Experience with purchasing processes and supplier communication.

Computer literate with experience using inventory and purchasing systems (e.g., Excel, ERP software).

Understanding of stock scanning, issuing, and reconciliation.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to think on your feet and solve problems under pressure.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Knowledge of fabric or textiles is a plus, but not essential.

GCSE or equivalent qualifications


Desirable:


Forklift licence or experience handling materials.

Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.

High level of numeracy and computer literacy
