I own a small but highly successful home-based greeting card franchise business and as such I am part of the Card Connection Franchise network. Card Connection is by some distance the largest of the greeting card suppliers to the retail convenience sector in the UK and Ireland, supplying to retail shops and post offices. My base is in Waterbeach, just outside Cambridge.
I have been trading for over twelve years and the business has grown significantly. This growth has come from increasing sales from existing retail customers, gaining a significant number of new retail customers and the purchase of postcode areas from neighbouring franchisees.
My area includes a lot of Cambridgeshire and Suffolk, and a part of Norfolk (plus tiny bits of Essex and Herts) . Retail customers include Spar supermarkets, Budgens, Premier, Costcutter, Nisa and Londis stores, Marks and Spencer's BP Simply Food forecourt sites and all the main garage forecourts - Esso, BP and Shell. There are also over a hundred independent cutomers, including Post Offices, within my customer base. There are close to 250 customers in total.
Our products include greeting cards, seasonal cards and packs, gift wrap, gift bags and other ancillaries.

he stock room role includes:
Careful unpacking and sorting of returning card stock
Putting together boxes of cards for display in retail outlets following the bespoke picking list accurately, and ensuring a mix of design styles within the selection
Checking and sorting new stock card orders when they come in
Putting together seasonal displays e.g Xmas, Mothers Day
Sorting returning seasonal cards by code and then design.
Keeping a close eye on stock levels so that we do not run short of stock on any card caption
Ordering new card stock from the franchisee ordering website
You will also get the opportunity to help out with merchandising in retaol outlets if you wish to.
You will need the ability to be well-organised and be able to work using your own initiative.
No previous experience is required as full training will be provided.
Hours of work- up to 30 hours, Monday to Friday only normal working hours.
You will join a small, enthusiastic and friendly team of staff.
Ideally, you will live within easy travelling distance of Waterbeach village.
Interviews will be held early in the New Year.
