Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Stonemason to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping, laying, and finishing stonework for various projects, including buildings, walls, and decorative features. Duties

Measure, cut, and shape stones using hand tools and power tools to precise specifications Lay bricks, stones, and other materials according to architectural plans and technical drawings Construct and repair walls, facades, pathways, and other stone structures with attention to detail Mix mortar and ensure proper bonding of materials for stability and aesthetic appeal Operate equipment such as scaffolding, lifts, and welding apparatus safely and efficiently Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure project specifications are met Maintain a clean and organised worksite, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times Assist with related tasks such as carpentry or roofing when required to support project needs

Experience

Proven experience in masonry or stonemasonry is essential Proficiency in using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, trowels, as well as power tools including drills and saws Knowledge of bricklaying techniques and general masonry principles Familiarity with the use of welding equipment for specialised repairs or structural enhancements Experience with carpentry or roofing is advantageous but not mandatory Ability to interpret technical drawings and architectural plans accurately Strong commitment to safety standards on-site and a keen eye for detail in craftsmanship

Pay: 17.50-22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week
