We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Stonemason to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping, laying, and finishing stonework for various projects, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse building and restoration projects, contributing to the creation of durable and aesthetically pleasing structures. Job locations vary between our workshops in Fife and locations throughout Scotland with occasional overnight travel required

Duties

Measure, cut, shape, and lay stone materials using hand tools and power tools with precision. Construct and repair stone structures such as walls, facades, arches, and decorative features. Mix mortar and other materials to secure stones in place according to project specifications. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate execution. Collaborate with other tradespeople including carpenters, roofers, and welders to complete integrated projects. Maintain a clean and organised worksite, adhering strictly to health and safety regulations. Assist in the installation of specialised masonry elements such as lintels or decorative features as required.

Skills

Proficiency with hand tools such as chisels, hammers, trowels, and levels. Experience in bricklaying and general masonry techniques. Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively for cutting or shaping stone Strong attention to detail with an organised approach to work tasks. Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights if necessary. Pay: 15.42-28.10 per hour
