Job Overview
We are currently seeking skilled
Stonemasons
to join our construction and restoration team. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with natural stone, including cutting, shaping, and laying for both restoration and new build projects.Key Responsibilities
Cut, shape, and dress stone to required specifications. Lay and fix stonework (walls, facades, steps, lintels, etc.). Restore and repair damaged or aged stone structures. Interpret technical drawings and site plans accurately. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with site supervisors, other trades, and clients as required.
Requirements
Proven experience as a stonemason (heritage or new-build preferred). Skilled in working with various stone types (e.g., limestone, sandstone, granite). Ability to read and work from architectural plans and drawings. Valid
CSCS card
- essential. Good attention to detail and high-quality workmanship.Desirable
Experience with
heritage or conservation stonework
NVQ or equivalent qualification in stonemasonryBenefits
