Job Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a
Store Apprentice
. This entry-level apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain practical experience in both procurement and retail/store operations, with the support of a structured training programme leading toward a recognised qualification (such as Level 3 Business Administration or Procurement and Supply Assistant Standard).
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Duties:
Assist with placing and tracking purchase orders
Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery schedules, and availability
Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier databases
Support sourcing of new suppliers and evaluation of quotations
Liaise with internal departments to ensure timely supply of materials
Contribute to supply chain improvements and ensure compliance with quality standards
Warehouse/Store Duties:
Assist internal staff by providing product information and handling inquiries
Receive deliveries, check items, book stock into the system, and allocate to jobs
Monitor part shortages and notify the Purchasing team
Learn and use the company's stock and inventory management system
Perform weekly cyclic stock checks and maintain accurate inventory levels
Pick build kits with accuracy and efficiency
Support store layout organization and ensure alignment with company standards
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized store environment
Learn and adhere to company policies on health and safety, loss prevention, and customer service
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Good written and verbal communication
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Attention to detail and accuracy
A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent
