Job Description


A fantastic opportunity has opened for a multi-site store and workshop manager. You will take responsibility for staff who provide a service to our customers at several locations, including several off-site locations that need liaison/servicing. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of two stores and workshops, and staff working within the facilities. Both stores and workshops are located in two different buildings.

The ability to multitask and delegate is essential in this role. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, and reporting on the work activities of the team. Providing effective communication, leadership, motivation, training, and development.

The primary function of this role is to maximise the performance of the operation by directing the daily and weekly activities, providing leadership, motivation, training, and development of colleagues, and executing against customer requirements and operational performance. In addition, the post will ensure efficient, effective, and value-for-money service across sites ensuring streamlined processes and systems are developed and implemented.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Logistics team management or similar.
  • Demonstrable track record of managing large scale change.
  • Working knowledge of computerised inventory management systems.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with academic, technical staff, and staff across different functions.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work flexibly to meet the demands of the Institute.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative.
