Job Summary

Charles River is currently recruiting a Stores Assistant at our facility in Alderley Park, Cheshire. The Store Assistant will be responsible for the support and maintenance of the High-Quality facility on a day-to-day basis.

The Role:

The successful candidate\'s duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • To manage the receipt, storage, and issue of materials for use in the manufacturing facility and external facility.
  • Keep all records up to date to ensure any stock movements are accounted for (cycle counting).
  • Regularly communicate with stakeholders to ensure all functions are aware of incoming deliveries, shortage and any issues such as delays or deliveries that were not received.
  • Maintenance of the Alderley Park facility including routine and laboratory campaign cleans.
  • Compliant completion of documentation to High Quality standards.
  • Preparation and autoclaving of materials and performing autoclave performance testing.
  • Materials and equipment transfer as part of project start up activities.
  • Working flexibly to support the teams delivering scientific processes within the High-Quality facility.
  • To assist in the collection and safe removal of waste including solvent, hazardous and non-hazardous and recyclable waste.
  • To perform manufacturing operations compliant to HQ standards, as defined in the Alderley Park Quality system.
  • To adhere to Charles River\' Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
Profile and Requirements

About You

Previous experience in a Stores environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Practical laboratory experience is desirable but not essential.

We are ideally looking for an individual who can demonstrate initiative, that is adaptable and has the ability to work flexibly.

As you will work closely with various departments across 2 sites, to ensure the safeguarding of stock, you will require strong written and verbal communication skills.

This role will be based at Alderley Park, Cheshire, however, a willingness to travel within the Group will be required.
