Stores Person

Part-time, Monday to Friday, 25 hours per week

10 am to 3 pm OR 9.30 am to 2.30 pm

Pay banding 12.50-12.70 depending on experience

We are recruiting for a Logistics/Stores person within our busy garden centre. You will be working predominantly within our goods delivery, goods in, and warehousing areas: customer deliveries, store-to-store transfers, unloading deliveries, checking off and storing stock, and assisting the retail team in picking and displaying stock. We are looking for a motivated individual who is looking for a career in the garden centre industry and/or within a thriving family business.

Role responsibilities:

Preparing orders for collection and delivery Collecting / delivering orders using the company vans Store to store transfer (Sudbury to Tiptree) Maintaining the storage warehouse Acting as banksman for incoming deliveries Loading and unloading vehicles (using a forklift and by hand) Checking in deliveries accurately Maintaining the computerised stock database Storing goods on shelves and racking until required Picking goods from picking lists and deliver to correct location of Garden Centre, and assisting in stocking up Ensuring the warehouse is clean and tidy Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed Keeping records of goods transfers in the garden centre Delivering a high level of service to all the departments of the garden centre

Requirements

Experience of working in a warehouse and storage facility Knowledge of warehouse practices and checking off procedures Good communication skills essential Ability to lift heavy objects e.g., goods inward, fetching individual items from storage Counterbalance forklift truck certificate - required Full UK Driving License is required NVQ or equivalent in warehousing and storage - advantageous but not essential. Attention to detail
