Purpose of role



Maintain efficient supervision of the stores and yard, and ensure that plant, equipment, materials, etc. are accurately inspected, maintained, stored, picked and supplied to meet the requirements of projects. Upkeep Asset software using PC, Tablet QR and Bluetooth scanning to Maintain required records for all plant, equipment, materials etc., held in the stores, yard and/or on-site, checking in and out all requested plant, equipment, materials, etc. as well as carrying out the necessary loading/unloading of all equipment as required. Monitor the security of all plant, equipment, materials etc., in the stores and in the yard.

Experience, knowledge and qualifications required



Essential



Hold appropriate plant licences (i.e. Fork Lift Truck, MEWP, etc.) and have extensive experience operating in an engineering stores environment. Be trained and experienced as a slinger / banksman Possess full, valid UK driving licence Experience maintaining stock control systems. Be trained and qualified to inspect equipment required under the current LOLER regulations (i.e. lifting tackle, harnesses, etc.) training given/ upkept if/when required. Be trained and qualified to carry out PAT testing. training given/ upkept if/when required. Experience of using internal IT systems as well as standard Microsoft programmes (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to use technological applications to achieve efficiency, ensure better visibility, mitigate risks and support lean management Have previous supervisor experience

Main responsibilities



Identification and logging of all plant, equipment, materials, etc. either at the business unit or on site. Inspection of lifting equipment and tackle either at the business unit or on-site. Portable appliance testing of electrical equipment either at the business unit or on-site. Ensure up to date asset inventories of all plant, equipment, materials, etc. in the business unit, on each

roject and/or each site. Loading and unloading of all plant, equipment, materials etc., as and when required to meet all required deadlines. Ensure the correct assessment of any loads being lifted. If manual handling is required, ensuring compliance with the relevant manual handling regulations and that loads are supported / slung correctly and safely. Ensure all loads are safely loaded, suitably secured and appropriate for the type of vehicle being loaded as advised by the driver Ensure all received loads are safe to be unloaded i.e. the load has not become unsafe during

ransit. Operate any plant (i.e. Fork Lift Truck, MEWP, Crane, etc.) safely and in compliance with the relevant regulations. Liaise with the Engineering team to ensure any plant, equipment, materials etc., required are ordered in good time, to meet agreed deadlines. Raise purchase orders and purchasing items from suppliers in the preferred or approved suppliers list. Work closely with the procurement team to ensure the best pricing policy is followed. Communicate with Resource Schedulers, Project Engineers and Project Managers to ensure prompt order fulfilment and resolution of queries. Receive deliveries and making the Engineering team aware of any plant, equipment, materials, etc. delivered or supplied incorrectly. Comply with the requirements of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH), including the obtaining and filing of safety data sheets from product suppliers. Work closely with the Engineering Manager and Project Support for pre-planned, preventative or reactive maintenance or repair requirements. Ensure all plant, equipment, and material requests (i.e. tackle lists, etc.) are complete before release from the Depot. Ensure the general upkeep, safety and security of stores facilities (and designated stores office area) is in accordance with the required company standards. Implement effective stores management processes e.g. 5S system. Monitor and maintaining stock levels to agreed levels. Ensure all new and/or returned plant, equipment, material etc., are inspected, labelled, placed or returned correctly into stock, as soon as possible. Monitor and controlling all plant/equipment certifications and associated testing requirements. Ensure all plant/equipment/materials are suitably marked, can be easily identified and in a fully working condition before being released from the business unit. Ensure all waste is disposed of correctly e.g. ensuring all scrap metal is logged and processed in line with company procedure etc. Assign basic tasks to operatives in the stores area, and ensuring close monitoring of the work Report all accidents and incidents, including "near misses" promptly, and participating in the investigation process as required Champion best practices in health, safety and environmental safety. Inspect all areas for faulty lights and replacing these as and when required. Maintain control of weeds and grass verges external to perimeter fence, mowing and trimming if necessary. During wintry, icy periods, ensuring entrances are well gritted. Monitor the stock of rock salt and advising when it begins to run low. Minor maintenance of building fabric, which may include small building works, carpentry, minor plumbing etc. Internal and external painting and general decorating duties if time permits as agreed with Engineering Manager Ensure that all safety signage is visible and replaced where necessary. Movement of office furniture and other equipment, erection / dismantling of shelving and any other items, as required, and in line with correct handling procedure. Clean debris from drains and disposal of cardboard boxes from the reception area. Contribute to continuous improvement processes and ensuring efficiency and standardisation on internal processes, documentation and the supply chain. Adhere to and supporting the implementation of Company processes and procedures e.g. data protection, carrying out investigations, disciplinaries, absence reporting etc. Strictly adhere to Company's Health and Safety Procedures and ensuring a safe working environment for self and others. Maintain a positive and professional image of Beck & Pollitzer (including wearing the correct branded wear and personal protective equipment, as required).
