Summary
We are seeking an experienced and organised Stores Supervisor to take full responsibility for stock control and materials preparation within our manufacturing operation. The successful candidate will ensure that all components and materials required for production jobs are available, correctly batched, and issued to the production department in line with drawings, worksheets, and schedules.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong attention to detail, effective coordination with production teams, and a proactive approach to stock management.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily warehouse operations including materials handling, shipping, and receiving.

Maintain accurate control of all stock, including raw materials, components, and consumables Ensure materials required for production jobs are picked, batched, and prepared in advance, in accordance with drawings, bills of materials, and job worksheets Issue materials to the production department efficiently to support production schedules Monitor stock levels and identify shortages, slow-moving stock, and re-order requirements Liaise closely with production, purchasing, and planning teams to ensure material availability Supervise day-to-day stores activities, including goods inwards, storage, and stock rotation Ensure stock records are accurate and up to date (manual or system-based) Maintain a clean, organised, and safe stores environment in line with health & safety requirements Support stock takes and audits as required

Previous experience in a stores, stock control, or materials supervision role within a manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, worksheets, and bills of materials Strong organisational and time management skills High attention to detail and accuracy Confident communicator with the ability to work closely with production teams Competent with stock control systems and basic IT (ERP/MRP experience desirable) Forklift licence desirable but not essential (training can be provided)
