About the Role

At Mentis AI we're looking for a

Strategic Projects Manager (SPM) based in London, UK

as of today to scale high-quality data operations for a highly strategic project. As an SPM, you will:

Orchestrate the end-to-end execution of high-stakes and fast-paced projects with precision and momentum. Lead, manage, and inspire our network of hundreds of corporate finance experts (domain experts) including ex-investment bankers and ex-private equity investors. Deliver operational excellence on relentless, daily timelines--no excuses, just outcomes. Work alongside AI engineers and researchers.

This is a sleeves-rolled-up operations role for builders obsessed with process optimization, rapid iteration, and high-intensity problem solving. SPMs report directly to the COO, with visibility and impact at the highest level.

Your Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

Architect and own end-to-end data creation processes, from project scoping based on customer requirements to final output. Identify key bottlenecks, redesign workflows, and roll out improvements that increase quality, accelerate throughput, and drive cost reductions, including incentive systems, allocation of resources, improving guidelines, and optimizing our review engine. Deliver critical reporting and proactively anticipate stakeholder (clients, domain experts) needs. Build long-term trust with domain experts and identify opportunities for expansion.

Domain Expert Coordination

Manage hundreds of in-office and remote domain experts in Slack-based workspaces. Onboard and get domain experts up to speed. Maintain execution standards across every production stage, ensuring hours are accurately tracked, utilization is healthy, and output meets spec.

Reporting

-------------

Build project critical reports and dashboards that surface throughput, quality, deadlines hit/missed, and expert utilization in real time. Run daily internal syncs to stay ahead of issues. Provide regular, transparent progress updates to the team and customers.

What We're Looking For

Experience:

Background in consulting, investment banking, startups, or other operationally intense environments.

Preferred:

Experience at a data labelling provider such as Scale AI and Appen

Skills:

Strong analytical and communication abilities; proven track record of managing complex projects at scale.

Cross-functional experience:

Comfortable working across teams and functions.

Profile:

Detail-oriented and highly structured thinker with a clear understanding of process optimization and project execution.

Key Facts

SPMs are a critical part of our operations team and drive the success of our projects. Expect high-stakes, time-sensitive work--think onboarding hundreds of experts in 72 hours and delivering 10+ hours of high-quality data per contributor within 48 hours. This is a pure operations role--built for doers focused on delivery, not strategy, product, or GTM. This role can be structured as a contract-specific role for 1-2 months (with full-time equivalent hours) or full time.
