Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Strategic Safeguarding Officer to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people within our educational settings. The successful candidate will work closely with schools, educational professionals, and other stakeholders to implement and monitor safeguarding policies and procedures.
The successful applicant will be motivated and enthusiastic, will be able to work independently but also collaborate where needed, will be confident in communicating with a range of stakeholders, including delivering training in both English and Welsh. They will be responsible for:
supporting the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures in educational settings.
Provide training and support to school staff on safeguarding issues.
Conduct regular audits and reviews of safeguarding practices in schools.
Act as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns and provide expert advice and guidance.
Liaise with external agencies, including social services and the police, to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on safeguarding activities
