We're looking for caring and compassionate Strategy and Safeguarding Co-Ordinator to join us to provide holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault.

Each region has its own dedicated SARC (sexual assault referral centre) which offers support and practical help to anyone who has been a victim of rape or sexual assault. Our services are co-funded by the Police and the NHS.
The nursing team are responsible for providing a dedicated 24/7 service for forensic and acute health needs and requirements.
As a Strategy and Safeguarding Co-Ordinator you'll receive full training and support, with further opportunities to undertake additional higher education after one year in-post.
Location: Willow Tree SARC, West Midlands
This is a full-time vacancy of 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9:30 am-5:30 pm.

Job Title: Strategy and Safeguarding Co-Ordinator
Reports To: SARC Manager
Purpose of the Role
The Strategy and Safeguarding Manager plays a key role in coordinating multi agency safeguarding activity for children and young people attending the SARC. The role ensures that cases are managed safely, efficiently and in line with national safeguarding standards. This includes leading on information sharing, attending strategy meetings, supporting decision making and ensuring children are directed to the most appropriate pathway at the right time. The post holder will also provide occasional crisis worker support when required.
Main Responsibilities:
Safeguarding and Multi Agency Coordination
Attend all relevant strategy meetings with police and social care
Share clear, accurate information to support multi agency decision making
Advise on the most appropriate pathway for each child, including identifying when a child protection medical is required
Ensure safeguarding concerns, consent, parental responsibility and contextual factors are clearly presented
Provide timely updates and essential case information to the forensic medical examiner
Build strong relationships with ICBs, safeguarding teams and wider partners
Complete follow up calls, actions and case closures in line with local processes
Provide written summaries and accurate case documentation
Crisis Worker Support
Provide cover for Paediatric and Adult services when needed
Support adults, children and families on arrival at the SARC
Assist with the forensic process including evidence collection and colposcopy support
Maintain high standards of DNA decontamination between cases
Record Keeping and Governance
Maintain accurate, confidential case notes
Ensure all files, evidence and information are stored securely
Support compliance with ISO 15189 and FSR Code of Practice
Follow all safeguarding, confidentiality and information governance policies
Training and Development:
Maintain up to date safeguarding training.
1. Will be trained to Level 4 safeguarding standard and will be responsible for the delivery of safeguarding training at Level 3, ensuring content meets current statutory guidance, organisational policy, and best practice standard.

Person Specification:
Education and Qualifications
1. Level 3 or above Safeguarding children and young people.
Experience and Knowledge:
Experience of working with children and young people
Experience of attending or contributing to multi agency safeguarding meetings
Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and child protection processes
Ability to risk assess and analyse complex information
Experience managing workload in a fast paced environment
Full UK driving licence and access to a car at all times
Desirable:
Qualification to deliver safeguarding supervision
Personal Qualities:
Excellent communication skills
Strong analytical and decision making ability
Calm and resilient when dealing with sensitive situations
