The role
To work across Havas London accounts including Galderma and consumer healthcare brands (Reckitt, Gaviscon, Fybogel) and help drive a focus on a 'health and beauty' new business push.
To collaboratively work with Havas Village teams and agency partners, guiding and supporting them in creative and innovation development with strategic thinking, both on client accounts and new business efforts.
To uncover consumer, brand, category and cultural insights, helping us achieve award-winning and highly effective communications campaigns.
To inspire those around you to push for brave and better work.
Key experienceYou have solid planning experience 7-10 years in an agency and have gained breadth and depth across core planning disciplines and channels.
Premium beauty and/or aesthetics category experience
Experience working in regulated healthcare category, with health care professionals as key audience OR experience working in regulated category with multiple target audiences (B2B2C)
Portfolio strategy experience
Experience balancing global brand strategy with local market dynamics and nuances
Confidence distilling complex scientific or clinical claims into consumer benefits and compelling creative propositions.
Experience managing brand and campaign strategy across functions - comms, social, PR, medical
You are an articulate presenter, and have a demonstrable track record of supporting the CSO and Head of Strategy in selling strategy, programs and creative to senior clients
Key Responsibilities
Leading us to great work through robust, strategically sound and brave thinkingDeveloping inspiring 'creative strategies' for the brands you will lead strategically
Taking briefings from clients alongside team members
Helping define research requirements and supporting delivery of insight work and creative development by partnering with data & insight teams as well as external research agencies
Using agency marketing intelligence tools and data to discover compelling insights to drive the strategic planning process and shape inspiring creative briefs
Supporting in the development of clear strategic recommendations across channels and consumer engagement platforms
Ensuring there are defined success metrics for each brief
Championing and supporting the quality of creative output throughout the development process.
Writing and presenting - take the complex and make it simple, exciting and compelling, through the art of storytellingDeveloping a clear narrative flow and story for client presentations
Presenting and selling the ideas or solutions proposed, getting clients excited
Supporting on writing in-depth analysis and award entries for successful campaigns.
Driving the thinking agenda within the agency - Inspiring those around you to think more ambitiously and bravelyBecome a thought-leader in the 'health and beauty' category
Ensuring you are always fully informed about the areas we operate in, sharing where appropriate with colleagues and clients
Leading inter-team discussions to help keep our minds sharp and at the cutting edge of thinking
Writing articles and thought pieces to be shared both internally and externally.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for the Role
Facilitating and defining the taskAs a Strategy Director you will work closely with client partners and senior clients to help define, interpret, and operationalise the communications task
Ensuring a the 'brief' has been completed in partnership with client services and in collaboration with the broader strategic team (such as data, UX, innovation, or content as necessary)
You are able to respond to a wide range of briefs - whether creative or strategic - and draw on support from senior team members as and when appropriate.
You can clearly and succinctly articulate the benefits of a range of different solutions, and are able to make clear recommendations on this basis - as a result, you inspire confidence in the client and internal stakeholders.
Insight and knowledge applicationYou are hungry to find the sharpest angles on briefs and opportunities - you look for ways to innovate, to do things better, or for additional revenue opportunities through the insight process - always searching for a broad mix of insights to inspire the best work.
You have unique and expert knowledge about the healthcare professional and consumer target audience, brand and marketplace relating to your assigned clients and proactively discover, organise, integrate and disseminate information among the broader team
People come to you, because they know you'll have the answer. And if you don't, you'll have the resourcefulness to find it quickly. You are able to differentiate between a fact and an insight
Creative brief writing and contributing to the creative development processYou can write creative briefs that are succinct, articulate, and inspiring
You will be the lead in the creative briefing process, leading those meetings and giving clear direction for the ideation process
You love the creative process, know great work when you see it and can articulate why it's great, how it answers the brief, and why it's likely to be effective
Strategists need to be able to judge the quality of the ideas generated for their potential effectiveness in achieving the objectives outlined.
