As NY Highways continue to grow, we are looking for

Electricians

to join the Street Lighting team to play an integral part in our operations, helping us to deliver the best service to our community.

As an Electrician your role will include:

Installing and maintaining street lighting and street furniture

Conducting inspections, fault finding, and repairs

Locating and repairing underground cable faults

Ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards

Collaborating with the wider Street Lighting team across North Yorkshire




In additional to your experience, you will also have knowledge of the constantly changing nature of Highway Maintenance (specifically street lighting) and bring a flexible approach to work, being able to adapt as and when required. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a street lighting background, with the passion and enthusiasm to drive the team forward into ever expanding markets, such as EV charging points.



You will be based from a depot in either Scarborough, Whitby or Kirby Misperton, where you will be able to pick up required equipment as needed and meet with the wider Street Lighting team, however, will spend most of your time working in different locations across the county.

To be successful in the role, you will have some of the following skills and experience:

Be qualified to the current IET Wiring regulations (BS7671/18th edition).

Hold City and Guilds 2330 Level 3 and have experience of carrying out testing.

Completed 714 inspection and testing. A good working knowledge of electrical works, repairs, testing & new infrastructure installation.

Knowledge of current guidance and legislation with respect to electrical design, inspection, and maintenance.

A good understanding of health and safety requirements in an electrical environment.

Hold a full UK Drivers Licence.

Ability to attend out of hours emergency calls (rota basis).
