From designing the world's tallest buildings and most extended spans to engineering inventive "jewel-box" structures and designing major expansion projects, we continually seek the best balance among the demands of form, function, sustainability, constructability, schedule, and budget.

The Role

Thornton Tomasetti's London office is seeking motivated and talented engineers with 4-7 years of experience to join our expanding data centre and mission-critical team.


As a result of our growing workload in this sector, we are looking for project engineers who can contribute to and help develop the team. Our projects are global and span a wide range of design stages, offering the right candidate excellent opportunities for progression. In addition to data centre and mission-critical work, you will also have the chance to contribute to major projects across multiple sectors--including commercial, residential, cultural, and sports--throughout the City of London, mainland Europe and the Middle East.


Candidates should be recently Chartered or actively working toward Chartered Engineer status via the ICE or IStructE pathways. For the right individual, this role offers strong potential for professional growth within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Provide supervision and guidance to junior engineers and BIM technicians. Perform structural analysis, design and detailing for a wide range of building types and materials, using various building codes. Coordinate design work with colleagues across multiple offices, as well as with Architects and other engineering disciplines. Communicate effectively with clients and design professionals to understand and meet project requirements. Travel within the UK and internationally may be required.

Requirements

Degree in structural engineering or a related discipline (Master's or equivalent preferred). Strong technical competence. Excellent verbal, written and graphical communication skills. Familiarity with current industry software such as SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Risa-3D, PCA, Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper and Microsoft Office. 4-7 years of relevant experience.
