The Opportunity:
The School of Chemistry is looking for Student Ambassadors interested in creating engaging social media content, (reels and posts) predominately for our Instagram channel. The project's objective is to showcase authentic student-created and student-led digital content highlighting the School of Chemistry student experience. The project's goal is to help engage with prospective students and their supporters to help them better understand what living and studying Chemistry in Edinburgh is like from our students' perspective. The post-holders will research different social media trends and be supported to prepare engaging content to inspire prospective students and offer holders to study Chemistry with us. The postholders will work closely with the School's Marketing, Recruitment and Communications team to help showcase the school's sense of community and what you love about life studying Chemistry and living in Edinburgh. Guidance will also be given around equipment/editing. For inspiration please visit the School Instagram to view our current content.
This exciting opportunity is open to all School of Chemistry undergraduate students from the University of Edinburgh. It assumes an equivalent of 3 hours work per week to complete the project and can be flexible to fit around the postholder's studying and other commitments.
The successful applicants must be in Edinburgh during the project.

Your skills and attributes for success:
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Demonstratable interest in creating engaging content for social media including Instagram
Demonstrable interest in Chemistry and/or STEM subjects and showcasing how Chemistry is key to a sustainable future addressing key global issues
Proactive, resourceful and enthusiastic to learn new skills and technologies and engage with audiences
Comfortable balancing studying and working independently with a wide range of people
A strong sense of service delivery and motivation to inspire others from a wide range of backgrounds/cultures
