We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Student Engagement Assistant to support our academic team in various educational and engagement activities. You will play a key role in enhancing student involvement and satisfaction within the institution. Please note that this position is for part-time basis and for Higher Education setting.
Responsibilities
Event Planning and Co-ordination
Assist in planning and executing both academic and non-academic student engagement activities, ensuring alignment with the Student Engagement Strategy.
Collaborate with the Student Union, Student Services, Welfare, Employability, Marketing teams, and academic staff to plan and co-ordinate engagement activities.
Work with the Student Engagement Officer to prepare the MRC Event Calendar and propose ideas for events throughout the year.
Contribute to the design of event posters and assist in creating content for the Student Engagement webpage.
Prepare and provide reports on event outcomes.
Support MRC Inductions by participating in the creation and delivery of Student Engagement presentation slides.
Organise Class Representative Meetings and take minutes.
Data Collection and Analysis
Collect feedback from students on engagement activities using surveys, Google Forms, video submissions, and other visual feedback methods.
Analyse data to evaluate the effectiveness of events and initiatives, offering insights and recommendations to enhance student engagement.
Alumni Relations
Maintain communication with alumni using information from the MRC Alumni Network Registration form data.
Assist the Student Engagement Manager in designing a quarterly Alumni Newsletter for students.
Use the Mont Rose College Alumni Network LinkedInGroup and email to share updates with alumni about benefits, relevant events, and collaboration opportunities with the College.
Student Services
Collaborate with the Student Services Team to prepare student letters and make calls to students for pastoral care and attendance support as needed.
Assist students with completing various forms, including those for absences, withdrawals, interruptions, and extensions, as required.
Widening participation
Deliver the Level Up Programme with Access HE for pre-16 pupils
Collaborate with schools to offer workshops and MRC visits
Expand the Buddy Scheme in collaboration with Welfare and Employability
Run targeted campaigns for mature, disabled, international, and part-time students
Offer hybrid/accessible formats for all college events.
Establish an internal student focus group to explore ways to make student life more engaging, with special attention to inclusive events and cultural preferences.
Professional Development and Performance
Attend regular staff training sessions and one-on-one meetings with the Student Engagement
Manager to discuss continuous professional development (CPD) and identify opportunities for further growth.
Work with the Student Engagement Manager to review productivity on a quarterly basis.
Adhere to internal controls and procedures related to student engagement activities.

A degree, plus some hands-on experience in similar or related roles; or a proven track record of extensive relevant work experience is desirable
