Part of the Galileo Educational Group and network and all the opportunities that it brings, we are pleased to advertise a fantastic opportunity to join our Student Experience Department at our city centre Liverpool campus as a Student Services Advisor.

What we are looking for is a passionate people person, focused on delivering excellent customer service and supporting our student body. Someone who is proactive and has a creative approach to work.

As a member of the Student Experience team, you will deliver efficient and professional information, advice and support to meet the needs of students on a range of personal, pastoral and academic issues. Working closely with our specialist service providers and academic team you'll live and breathe our ethos of putting students first.

Duties:



To use triage skills to identify important or urgent issues and ensure that they are escalated appropriately to the relevant support services. Efficiently assess the student's need, to enable appropriate onward referrals and make recommendations for ongoing support. Develop appropriate and effective ways of communicating with students and staff. Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of policies, issues and legislation relating to personal, pastoral and academic issues. Develop a close operational partnership with the Student Services Team in order to actively participate in key events and activities, such as induction/orientation programmes and wellbeing events. Collect and review feedback from students and staff by appropriate means, as part of the continuous quality improvement plan. Attend appropriate events relating to students and their wellbeing, including Open Days, Careers events, Student Performances, screenings and exhibitions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge on legal requirements relating to working with young people

Skills:



Previous experience working within 11-18 education, further education or higher education is desirable as is experience of working in a student recruitment and outreach. Excellent administrative, organisation and time management skills High level of IT proficiency, particularly with Google applications Knowledge and understanding of the UCAS admissions and student finance processes would be beneficial. An understanding of working with young people and vulnerable adults and issues relating to safeguarding
