Student Support Officer

, you'll ensure our students feel safe, confident, and supported throughout their journey. You'll combine empathy with organisation, making you a vital link between learners, teachers, and managers, all while helping to shape an inclusive learning environment where everyone can thrive.

Established in 2017, School of Coding & AI has rapidly grown into the UK's largest and most decorated Coding and Computer Science institution. Each month, we empower thousands of children and adults, collaborating with over 150 schools, colleges, and businesses nationwide to deliver comprehensive courses in STEM, Coding, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Business Studies.

WHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?



Student First Contact:

Act as the first point of contact for student support queries across programmes.

Attendance & Engagement:

Monitor student attendance, wellbeing, and engagement, following up promptly on absences or concerns.

Pastoral & Wellbeing Support:

Offer emotional support, pastoral care, and appropriate referrals for students facing difficulties.

Onboarding & Induction:

Support new students during enrolment and induction to ensure a smooth transition into learning.

Process Guidance:

Help students navigate internal processes and access additional resources or services.

Collaboration:

Work closely with teaching staff and managers to identify and address student needs early.

Administration & Records:

Maintain accurate and confidential student records in line with safeguarding procedures.

Student Voice & Wellbeing:

Assist in delivering surveys, wellbeing initiatives, and retention strategies.

General Administration:

Support office operations, document preparation, communication, and reporting.

Team Projects:

Assist with departmental initiatives by providing admin and coordination support.

WHAT BACKGROUND DO I NEED TO HAVE?



GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above. Experience in student support, safeguarding, pastoral care, or a learner-facing role (preferably in an educational or training environment). Strong communication, empathy, and listening skills, with a calm and approachable manner. Good organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail. Ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of learners. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); knowledge of learner management systems is a plus. Familiarity with safeguarding and data protection principles (training provided if not already held). A relevant qualification in education, youth work, or support services is desirable.
