Job Purpose
To help in developing an environment that both students and staff are proud to be part of. To provide wellbeing support to students within the Collegiate through group activities and one-to-one student support. This job description is written at a specific time and is subject to change as the demands of the Collegiate and the role develops. The role requires flexibility and adaptability and the employees of the Collegiate need to be aware that they may be asked to perform tasks and be given responsibilities not detailed in this job description.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Student Wellbeing support officer, you will work within the Wellbeing team. Your principal role is to ensure that the students are safe and well cared for. The provision of effective daily behaviour management, support and guidance for students are key aspects of the role. You will be expected to support with; running of pastoral systems for the whole Collegiate, providing wellbeing support via activities for groups of students, one to one sessions as a student key worker, work in collaboration with boarding staff and school teams in creating reports and wellbeing plans for students requiring additional support. Working hours are between 8-5 with an hour's break, 5 days a week.
Your general duties and responsibilities are as follows;
Students
To be responsible, in conjunction with other members of the team for the smooth running of whole school reward and conduct systems.
To deliver wellbeing support in conjunction with the Pastoral care team for the students in the form of wellbeing activities, one to one support and guidance.
To work closely with the boarding team and academic teams to ensure high quality wellbeing provision is provided to the students based on their individual needs
Policy
To be fully conversant with the Collegiate policies as they apply to the Houses and to operate in line with those policies
To provide support with pastoral concerns, ensuring they are referred to the Safeguarding Team
To provide support with developing the wellbeing support for students
Parents/Agents/Guardians
To build positive, professional relationships with parents, agents and guardians
To understand the Collegiate requirements for professional communication
Staff
To provide relevant staff with information about individual students as necessary
To liaise with the Boarding Management Team regarding training needs, either your own or other staff members
Administration
To be part of the team and carry out some administrative duties within the Wellbeing team
Support for the Collegiate
To recognise your own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others
To supervise pupils on visits, trips and out of Collegiate activities as required
