About the role:

Activate Learning has recently secured funding to deliver Higher Technical Education (HTE) skills injection funded projects, focused on supporting the growth of level 4 and 5 (post A Level) qualifications.
As part of this, we are now recruiting for Finance/Accounting Subject Matter Experts to design the educational experience for learners on new online Leadership and Management programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise to develop an online learning experience that unpicks and translates the world of finance and accounting for aspiring leaders.
You will be responsible for the planning and design of the digital programmes, ensuring the curriculum at every stage of the learner journey is current, relevant, and supports our learners on a path to success.
Collaboration and innovation are at the heart of this role. You will work closely with other Subject Matter Experts, faculty and our Digital Education team, challenging existing processes and practices in a supportive manner to drive improvement and create exceptional digital learning materials.
The role is offered on a part time basis, working 1 day per week and fixed term for 2 months, with the potential to extend.
Location: This is a hybrid role, working remotely with an occasional requirement to travel to our Berkshire campuses for team meetings.
Salary: \xc2\xa342,618 - \xc2\xa352,394 per annum pro rata, depending on qualifications and experience

What do you need to be successful as a Finance/Accounting Subject Matter Expert?

We are looking for finance and accounting experts who are passionate about shaping the future of higher education with the ability to translate complex theories, concepts, processes and procedures for aspiring non-finance leaders.
You will have significant knowledge and experience in your subject matter specialism that you will utilise to design and plan an innovative online curriculum.
If you could enhance our learner\xe2\x80\x99s understanding in areas such as; accounting principles; interpreting financial statements; budgeting, forecasting and project costing, then we would like to hear from you!
About you:

  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, Level 4 AAT, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent) or comparable professional experience coupled with industry experience

Your ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team, meet deadlines, and achieve targets will also be pivotal to this project, along with a creative and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
