We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join the team at HMP Lancaster Farms, a Category C male prison located on the outskirts of Lancaster. HMP Lancaster Farms offers a fast paced, unique rewarding environment to learn and develop.

This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care.
Hours:
This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shifts are 8am - 4pm.
Salary:
This position is full time , you'll receive an annual salary of 28,247 - 32,346 dependent on experience.

What you'll be doing
As our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

• Delivering outstanding care to psychosocial patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback - ensuring that their care is personalised and tailored to the individual
• Manage a caseload of patients with varying needs, including substance misuse, mental health, trauma etc
• Providing a programme of psychosocial interventions and comprehensive assessments
• Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices
• Prepare patients for release and transfer
• Delivering care on a 1-1 basis as well as group sessions
• Assisting the healthcare team across other pathways as needed, including second signing

Our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker will:

• Have experience within Substance misuse, ideally a prison / secure environment, and ideally within a Recovery Worker / Practitioner role
• Have experience of working within the substance misuse multi-disciplinary framework, which includes housing, social care, health care and mental health pathways
• Have a flexible approach, and excellent communication skills
• Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
