We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and the ability to navigate various driving conditions. The Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Duties
Operate delivery vehicles, including vans and flatbed lorries, to transport goods to designated locations.
Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to all safety protocols.
Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel consumption.
Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and organisation of stock.
Demonstrate mechanical knowledge by performing basic maintenance on vehicles when required.
Requirements
Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience as a delivery driver is preferred.
Previous experience in a warehouse environment is advantageous.
Strong communication skills to interact with team members and customers effectively.
Ability to drive various types of vehicles, including vans and flatbed lorries.
Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle checks and maintenance tasks.
