Job Title: English Study Camps Operations Coordinator - Fixed Term contract initially for nine months through to end of September 2026.
Reporting To: Director of Young Learners

Salary: 26,000 per annum FTE. January-February 2026 will be worked at 4 days (32 hours) per week and paid pro-rata; from March 2026 the role is full-time (40 hours/week)
Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Rest breaks and daily/weekly rest will be provided in line with the Working Time Regulations. During peak periods, pre-agreed overtime or TOIL may apply under ESC policy. Staff may be asked to sign a 48-hour opt-out during the summer if operationally required
Job holder's primary objectives:
- Operational
Being a point of contact for all seasonal staff prior to the start of the summer schools
Assist the Director of Young Learners in developing and maintaining excellent relations with the school sites we use to run our programmes and with external suppliers
Contribute to the planning and preparation of the course programmes
Maintain accurate system documentation and records
Research, plan and purchase excursion tickets for the summer school in collaboration with the Director of Young Learners
Research, plan and book transport for the summer school transfers and excursions
Manage the inventory of equipment and resources
To help with operational delivery of shorter ESC courses during the year
To work within set departmental budgets
To work from one of our campuses during the summer period
- Safer Recruitment & Compliance:
Support safer recruitment across junior programmes in line with KCSIE (Sept 2025), including adverts, application screening, references, identity and right-to-work checks, and DBS checks at the appropriate level where legally eligible. Maintain the Single Central Record with HR and ensure all staff complete required safeguarding training before deployment. Escalate concerns to the DSL or DDSL.
Liaise and keep in contact with previous summer staff employees to ensure a high returner rate and ensuring relevant documentation is kept.
- Staff-Facing Social Media & Internal Communications
Oversee the Staff-facing social media and Internal Communication Channels
Maintain supportive and collaborative relations with all teams across the school
- Other:
To provide support for other departments within the school as required. This includes being on the rota for the emergency phone holder.
- Student Welfare & Child Protection:
Promote a safeguarding culture; report and record any concerns immediately via ESC procedures; liaise with the DSL/DDSL; attend and keep current all mandatory safeguarding training; handle information securely and in line with data protection.
Place of work: Wimbledon School of English, 41 Worple Road, Wimbledon SW19 4JZ, with regular travel to ESC residential centres (e.g., Lord Wandsworth College, Epsom College) during summer. Travel and subsistence reimbursed under ESC policy. Overnight stays may be required.
