Superintendent Pharmacist



This role is ideal for someone looking to step into their first Superintendent role. The role will be a hybrid role that will still predominantly be pharmacist operationally focused, but with the ability to be involved in setting governance and contributing to the strategic direction of the company.

Pride Pharmacy is a wholly owned subsidiary company of University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust which was formed in August 2018. Our aim is to provide high quality patient services by building on the culture of excellence and the pride we have in everything we do.

Pride Pharmacy is a single outpatient service that operates out of 2 sites; however, we are planning on expanding our service which will lead to this role growing in line with the business.

We are looking for an individual that is focussed on quality and performance who can display positive role model behaviour. An understanding of the GPhC requirements and SOP development would be an advantage to someone looking to move into this role.

Key Responsibilities



Ensure the smooth delivery of the right medication to the right patient within the specified timescales

Provide advice and support for governance-related matters

Provide guidance to the management team and board for regulatory changes and legislative issues

Provide guidance and support for the board in relation to strategic plans

Ensure all induction materials are up to date and provide the training to pharmacists and dispensers

Display role model behaviours and support in the leadership and management of our team

Skills and Qualifications



MPharm or equivalent with GPhC registration

demonstrate significant experience in pharmacy commensurate with the responsibilities of the role

Evidence of Training, mentoring and teaching

In-depth knowledge of use of medicines

Understanding of clinical effectiveness and ability to influence clinical decision making

Understanding of clinical governance and ability to improve patient safety

Able to undertake RCA and identify improvements to patient safety

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 65,000.00-70,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
