YourHealth Pharmacy is a well established wholly owned subsidiary of East and North Hertfordshire Trust, offering outpatient pharmacy services at the Lister Hospital, the New QE11 Hospital and the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. We focus on improving the outpatient pharmacy experience for patients, staff and the community through efficient and innovative ways of working.
As the Superintendent Pharmacist, you will be responsible for a team of Pharmacy Managers, Pharmacists, Accuracy Checking Technicians, Technicians, Dispensers and Healthcare Assistants across three sites. Your focus will be on developing and assuring standards of excellence in pharmacy services to deliver outstanding outcomes for all patients.
The position is for a minimum period of 18 months to support a maternity cover, on a 40 hours per week contract. The role requires flexible working across the 3 hospitals, with some opportunities to work from home.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITES
To develop and assure standards of excellence by;
Being accountable for ensuring that all legal and professional requirements are adhered to; most notably in relation to clinical governance, information governance, assurance and health and safety
Analysing and responding to internal and external information sources, including professional inspections, to identify and implement statutory, regulatory and best practice standards for the storage, preparation, dispensing, sale and supply of medicines
Identifying and managing risks to patients, the public and our staff, strengthening medicines safety within the dispensing process
Actively seeking feedback from service users and analysing key performance indicators to identify and implement opportunities to innovate with service enhancements and service improvements
Preparing and presenting appropriate reports to support communication and decision making at appropriate forums, including the Board of Directors
Liaising with key stakeholders to ensure safe and effective medicines supply processes, particularly in relation to high cost and high-risk medicines
Work closely with the senior leadership team to identify and develop opportunities to further develop services
Responsible for budgets and ensuring delivery of profit targets and business objectives
To enable service delivery through the team, by;
Providing day to day leadership of Pharmacy Managers and their teams to deliver an outstanding patient experience
Ensuring the Responsible Pharmacists and their teams are supported to fulfil their legal and professional obligations
Overseeing and contributing to the delivery of a training and development programme for the pharmacy teams
Acting as a positive role model, participating in the delivery of other dispensary duties including accuracy checking, patient counselling, medicines sales and advisory services
Support pharmacy managers to ensure staff rotas are robust, managing contingency and recruiting and retaining the best team
