Job Description

Faith Fostering is looking for Supervising social workers to join the Team (North West based / Midlands based). The Supervising social workers must provide support and advice to foster parents, while fulfilling their role as supervisors, ensuring that the fostered child feels secure and is thriving, and verifying that the foster parents meet the fostering service's requirements.

As a Supervising Social worker, your responsibilities will include the following;



Supervise foster parents, guiding new ones through the induction process. Ensure completion of TSDS portfolios. Undertake Form F assessments when required to and support visits to your fostering families. Hold monthly reflective sessions for foster parents, helping them understand their impact on the child's development. Train them to make positive differences using theories like systemic or social learning. Work directly with children to improve stability and development. Identify foster parents learning needs, document in a Personal Development Plan (PDP), and offer support to meet standards Carry out unannounced visits and health and safety assessments/risk assessments. Ensuring that foster parents fully understand the fostering task, competencies to be achieved and the standards expected, including complaints and representation procedures as detailed in Faith Fostering's policies and procedures. Complete foster parent Annual Reviews, within required timescales, providing written evidence of competence. Presenting Annual Review Reports to Faith Fostering Panel as required. Preparing reports where necessary, such as LAC reviews, Placement stability meetings. Advocating on behalf of both the Foster Parents and the young person if necessary. Respond in a timely manner to referrals coming into Faith Fostering, matching carefully with the Registered Manager. Communicating effectively with the referring officer and the matched foster parents. Participate within Faith Fostering's recruitment and advertising campaigns. Recruit, assess and monitor the continued suitability and competence of Foster Parents ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children/young people. Attend monthly reflective supervision with the Registered Manager to explore how you are making sense of the foster family functioning and create interventions to improve the care offered to every child/young person placed. Ensure full compliance with legislative requirements and company operational standards, to ensure that we are safeguarding children and managing business risks. Ensure that children & young people are informed of their rights and assisted in using the complaints procedures of Faith Fostering and their Local Authorities where needed. Ensure that the protection of children and the promotion of their welfare is given absolute priority in all activities and that critical incidents/allegations are recorded, investigated and acted upon appropriately and in keeping with Faith Fostering and relevant local authority child protection procedures. Reporting any concerns to the Registered Manager immediately.

Requirements



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work or a related field Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse populations Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Knowledge of social work theories, principles, and ethics Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Experience of analytical and critical report writing Proficient in using computer software for documentation and record keeping

Salary:

34,000 - 40,000 dependent on experience.

Hours:

9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Some evenings and weekend work as and when needed.

Work location:

Flexible working as we have foster parents in the North West and West Midlands. There will be some remote, home and office-based working involved when undertaking the role to support foster families.

Our Head Office is in Preston, UK. Free Parking on site.
