Main Duties

The Customer

Meet, greet and seat customers in each department. Ensure all our customers are served quickly, courteously and professionally. Liaise with bar and restaurant staff to ensure smooth service. Be fully conversant with the food menus, and liaise closely with the kitchen staff. Be familiar and ensure your staff are familiar with all menus, wine lists and drinks sold within the outlet and be able to explain and describe the contents and preparation of each food item and drink available.

Supervision and Training

Supervise staff in the preparation of the bar and restaurant for each service period. Supervise staff in the stocking and cleaning of the restaurant and bar. Assist in operational training for bar and restaurant staff. Ensure all complaints are dealt with efficiently and the manager made aware of them. Supervise and implement the established standards of service, using our standards of performance manuals. Increase sales where possible and make every effort to control and reduce costs. Supervise maintenance of equipment and ensure equipment is stored properly. Ensure stock control is kept to the highest standard. Oversee staff ensuring that they are carrying out all aspects of their job in accordance with their job descriptions and The Horatio Group policy. Be fully conversant with health, safety, hygiene and fire regulations and procedures of The Horatio Group. Advise your staff to report for duty on time, in the correct uniform and with the highest standards of personal hygiene. Be fully conversant with all The Horatio Group facilities. Attend any training courses required. Perform any other duties as required by management. Attend all staff and management meetings.

Person Specification

The ideal person for this position will have excellent interpersonal skills, be customer focused and highly driven to meet the demands of this role.

Essential:

2 years or more bar/restaurant experience

Fully flexible to work evenings and weekends

Desirable:

1 year or more supervisory experience

Pay: 13.30 per hour
