Job Description

Main Purpose of Job

The Pub Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our traditional pub, ensuring exceptional service and maintaining our reputation for high-quality cask ales. This role involves managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring the pub always looks its best to promote the success and growth of our small independent brewery tap.

Main Responsibilities

Staff Management:

Lead and supervise a team of bar staff, ensuring they provide excellent customer service and adhere to company standards. This includes training new employees, scheduling shifts, and conducting performance reviews.

Customer Service:

Ensure a welcoming and friendly environment for all patrons. Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner.

Stock Management:

Oversee the ordering, receiving, and storage of cask ales and other supplies. Ensure the bar is always well-stocked and products are displayed attractively.

Quality Control:

Maintain the highest standards of cask ale presentation and quality. Conduct regular checks to ensure proper storage, handling, and serving of ales.

Financial Management:

Assist with budgeting, cash handling, and daily financial reconciliations. Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.

Pub Presentation & Cleanliness:

Ensure the pub is always clean, tidy, and well-presented. This includes making sure signage, chalkboards, and promotional materials are updated and in good condition, and that the bar and customer areas are spotless and welcoming.
General Responsibilities

Operational Efficiency:

Ensure the smooth operation of the pub during opening hours, including the preparation of the bar area, maintaining cleanliness, and organizing events or promotions.

Health and Safety:

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for both staff and customers.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the brewery team to stay informed about new products, promotions, and events. Provide feedback to improve service and product offerings.

Customer Engagement:

Foster strong relationships with regular patrons and local community members. Organize and promote events that enhance customer engagement and loyalty.
Additional Duties

Event Management:

Plan and execute special events, tastings, and promotions to attract new customers and enhance the pub's reputation.

Social Media and Marketing:

Assist with the pub's social media presence and marketing efforts to promote events, new ales, and other activities.

Training and Development:

Continuously develop your own skills and knowledge of cask ales and the pub industry. Attend training sessions and industry events as required.
Legal Duties

Comply fully with all legal requirements including GDPR, Employment law, Weights and Measures, Health and Safety (this list is not exhaustive) Attend any Health and Safety training when required Ensure full compliance with all areas of Health and Safety as per company Health and Safety policy at all times Ensure full compliance with Food Hygiene Regulations at all times

Qualifications



Proven supervisory experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting Strong team management and leadership skills Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and culinary practices Experience in food preparation and cooking Familiarity with barista and bartending techniques Background in food production and kitchen operations Ability to maintain high standards of service and hospitality
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 18 - 40 per week

Work Location: In person
