Job Description

TruFrame is the largest independent manufacturer of uPVC windows and doors in the UK. Drawing on over twenty years' experience in the industry we are a fast-growing and ever-evolving business, who are looking for someone to come and join us.

The Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Shift Manager and working closely with the Team Leaders in order to ensure that the window and door factories of the Production Department is lead efficiently and effectively.

The Supervisor will also be responsible for motivating Team Leaders and staff to work to the highest standard and deliver quality products.

Night Shift:

Working hours are 22:00pm to 06:00am - Monday to Friday.

Hourly rate:

The hourly rate of 19.31 per hour includes a shift premium of 12.00 which is paid after completion of 7.5 hours work on this shift. This hourly rate also includes a discretionary bonus.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Identify incorrect production practice within the shift and address any concerns efficiently and effectively. Support the Shift Manager when undertaking departmental inductions for new starters. Assist Team Leaders in delivering regular team briefings. Complete return to work interviews with staff following absences (as required). Support the HR Department in the recruitment of new starters by providing walkarounds of the site and engaging in informal conversation. Ensure that the shift are aware of (and follow) relevant Company policies and procedures (and highlight any concerns to the Shift Manager). Ensure that the shift are aware (and actively participate in) safe working practices. Work with Team Leaders in taking an active role in the Health & Safety initiatives within the shift. Support the Shift Manager with departmental administration tasks. Deputise for the Shift Manager e.g. cover holidays, sickness and other needs (as and when required). Assist (and work with) the Shift Manager to ensure that effective communication occurs between all necessary departments. Ensure that production and material resources remains cost effective, e.g. to be cost effective when making the remakes and using off cuts (where applicable). Supply the Logistics Department with the correct orders (as stated on the planning system). Be visible at all times to the Shift Manager and Team Leaders. Support the Shift Manager in maintaining product errors below the target. Monitor productivity and KPIs on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. Assist the Shift Manager in ensuring that there is a sufficient and effective handover (for the next shift).

Person Specification:

Previous experience of production of both windows and doors (ideal, but not essential). Good numeracy skills. Good standard of written English and good proof-reading skills. Ability to work to follow reasonable instructions and meet tight deadlines (accurately and quickly). Logical thinker. Self-motivated. Ability to solve problems and make decisions effectively and efficiently. Confident team player, prepared to be flexible to meet both team and shift requirements. Ability to communicate clearly at all levels.
