Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day running of The Little Fish & Chip Shop in Southwold. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a team, good communication skills and previous hospitality experience.
Duties:
Open and close the business in line with company policies and procedures.
Take the lead in delivering a great guest experience to all customers through friendly, polite and efficient service.
Oversee the smooth running of all sections to include; Till, Frying, Serving, Packing and Back-up.
Promote high standards of Health & Safety and Food Safety in line with company processes at all times.
Ensure that the business's quality standards are upheld by staff at all times.
Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene within all areas of the premises including following correct procedures for waste and bins.
Understand and promote the correct process for prepping, cooking, serving and storing all products including, fish, chips, sausages and hot/cold sauces.
Have an in-depth knowledge of our product range in order to answer questions and assist with customer orders.
Resolve any complaints sympathetically and in a timely manner, referring to the management team where necessary.
Resolve minor maintenance issues and escalate to management team when appropriate.
Organise the shift, including deployment, task allocation and breaks.
Oversee the induction, training and coaching of the team to improve performance.
Motivate and appraise staff to promote good employee relations.
Communicate effectively with all in the team.
Address minor performance issues with the team when required and escalate to senior team when appropriate.
Liaise with Fishmongers to allow efficient production and delivery of prepared food.
Maintain stock levels and place accurate orders when required.
Maximise sales and profitability through effective upselling, minimising waste and having a good understanding of business costs.
Maintain the required level of training and certification to include; Food safety, Allergens, Health & safety and Fire safety.
Complete all daily paperwork to the standard required.
Daily management of cash to include the end of day cashing up process.
Answer all incoming telephone calls.
Correctly wear appropriate uniform and use any PPE issued.
Ensure that all staff are correctly using the EPOS system to clock in and out of their shifts.
Follow the requirements for employees as outlined in the Staff Handbook
Any other reasonable duties as requested by the management team.
