Job Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Fish and Chip Shop Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our mobile food unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, preparing and serving quality food, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring excellent customer service. You'll play a key role in delivering a consistent and enjoyable experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily operations of the fish and chip van, including setup, service, and pack-down. Prepare, cook, and serve high-quality fish and chips and other menu items to food safety standards. Supervise, train, and motivate a small team of staff. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the van at all times in line with health and safety regulations. Manage inventory, stock levels, and ordering of supplies. Handle cash and card payments accurately, and complete daily financial records. Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and licensing requirements. Represent the brand positively and professionally at all times. Monitor customer satisfaction and respond to feedback or complaints appropriately.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a fast-paced food service or mobile catering environment. Strong cooking and food preparation skills, particularly in deep frying. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Full UK driving licence essential to drive the mobile Fish & Chip shop. Valid Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above preferred). Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and at events or festivals.

Desirable:

Experience managing a mobile catering unit or food truck. Knowledge of local food safety and trading regulations. Experience with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
