The Role




We're looking for a collaborative, enthusiastic, and motivated

Supplier Quality Engineer

to join our dynamic team based onsite at our Livingston/Bathgate facility. You'll be part of a diverse group of individuals who thrive on effective collaboration to achieve common goals.


In this autonomous role, you'll work unsupervised and make sound decisions based on data and requirements. Your excellent communication skills will be key in managing customer relationships and driving issue resolution with suppliers. You'll also be confident in applying statistical methods and interpreting technical data and drawings.

Key Responsibilities:



Supplier Qualification: Lead supplier qualification as a key member in supplier selection and evaluation teams using a risk-based approach. You'll also lead supplier audits, applying good auditing practices and our Quality Management System (QMS) in both new programs and ongoing management of suppliers. Part Qualification: Use purchased product specifications to identify Critical to Quality features and complete part qualification activities. You'll leverage different elements of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to flow requirements from customers into the supply base. This includes connecting part qualification activities into receiving inspection by setting both sampling plans and inspection criteria. You'll represent Supplier Quality in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) teams and supplier change requests, driving Zero Defect strategies into the supply chain. Supplier Management: Lead supplier corrective action activities at multiple levels of the supply chain, utilizing non-conforming parts, data trends, and supplier audit findings. You'll analyze data to identify trends and provide suppliers with feedback to drive performance improvements, assisting in the categorization of suppliers by risk for additional development or auditing activities. Engineering Expertise: Apply your engineering expertise to challenge supplier processes using a risk-based approach. This includes design reviews, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), control plans (CP), and Statistical Process Controls (SPC) applied to selected manufacturing technologies. Strategic Contribution: Assist in guiding or shaping future Supplier Quality Strategies and support the development of other supplier quality engineers in both technical growth and supplier quality fundamentals. You'll apply your domain depth to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and templates to improve standard work and operational rigor within the function.

Required Experience:



Proficiency with 8D, 5 Whys, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Strong IT skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems and software.
