The Waunarlwydd/ Swansea operation now have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Quality Engineer to join the team.

Job Summary:


The Supplier Quality Engineer is integral in owning the Timet UK Swansea supplier relationships, driving quality, cost and delivery performance including the management of scorecards for critical Subcontractors and Suppliers.

Working with Suppliers to identify and monitor risks within the supply chain with targeted interventions and action plans to ensure the required performance is achieved. This role will involve travel to suppliers and the Birmingham TIMET site.

Essential Functions:



Manage and monitor supplier performance KPI's and governance structure. Actively identify and manage quality, delivery and risk. Identify supply chain development opportunities to enable successful execution of future business requirements. Lead targeted supplier improvements across the external supply chain. Manage, monitor and report on supplier performance scorecards using designated management tools, developing supply base to be class leading. Manage supplier capability audit process and annual audit schedule including management of any Supplier Corrective Actions. Keep internal customers and stakeholders appraised of quality, delivery issues and escalations. Coordinating interdepartmental activity with quality, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering etc to enable supplier performance. Ensuring that the Supplier Management process is compliant to QMS, including management of Supplier related documentation, purchase order information and Technical Specifications. Managing new supplier qualification activities. Flowing down AS13100 / Zero Defects requirements to suppliers and ensuring compliance. Report supplier KPI elements in department meetings and at daily operational meetings when required.

Additional Requirements:



This role will require UK business travel.

Education/ Qualification/ Knowledge Required:



Demonstrated professional advancement in a manufacturing environment. Applicable degree in Supply chain Management, Engineering or Business equivalent Demonstrable computer skills in SAP, Microsoft Office applications. LEAN/Six Sigma/CI experience preferred.

Experience Required:



Demonstrated experience of supplier management/interaction. Extensive knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA and 8D problem solving techniques. Experience of working with ERP systems. Experience in working with Quality Management Systems: ISO 9001/AS9100/AS13000 or similar. Experience as lead Quality Auditor / Internal Auditor Have the skills to drive systematic and process driven activities focusing on attention to detail and right first time. Will have experience in reporting, data analysis, effectively turning system data into action orientated information. Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels are essential including regular Management Reviews in line with QMS.
