Stourgarden is a leading UK onion business with an annual turnover of approximately 100 million. Operating at scale within the fresh produce sector, Stourgarden supplies major retail, wholesale and foodservice customers, underpinned by a strong operational and logistics capability.
As part of continued growth and operational development, Stourgarden is recruiting two Supply Chain Coordinators to support outbound logistics, equipment control and customer service across a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern.
Role Overview
The Supply Chain Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of outbound supply chain activities. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role requiring close collaboration with production, logistics providers and customers to ensure orders are delivered accurately on time and in line with customer requirements.
Initially, the role will report directly into the Commercial Manager. In approximately six months, a Supply Chain Lead role will be introduced, who will assume day-to-day leadership of the team and report into the Commercial Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Logistics
Coordinate daily outbound deliveries to customers, ensuring orders are dispatched accurately and on time
Liaise with hauliers and transport partners to manage collections, deliveries and any delivery-related issues
Monitor delivery performance and proactively resolve delays or exceptions
Equipment Hire & Dehire
Manage the hire and dehire of supply chain equipment (e.g. pallets, bins, crates)
Ensure accurate tracking, documentation and reconciliation of equipment movements
Work with suppliers and internal teams to minimise losses and control costs
Customer Amendments & Service
Respond promptly to customer amendment requests (order changes, delivery times, quantities, specifications)
Liaise closely with production teams to assess feasibility and implement approved changes
Ensure all amendments are accurately reflected in systems and communicated to relevant stakeholders
Internal Coordination
Act as a key interface between commercial, production and logistics teams
Support production planning by providing clear and timely information on customer requirements and changes
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function
Systems & Administration
Maintain accurate records within relevant supply chain and ERP systems
Produce basic reports on deliveries, amendments and equipment movements as required
Skills & Experience
Essential
Experience in a supply chain, logistics, operations or customer service coordination role
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-critical environment
Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with customers, hauliers and internal teams
Good attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach
Comfortable working shifts, including weekends, on a 4 on / 4 off pattern
Desirable
Experience within FMCG, fresh produce, food manufacturing or agriculture
Familiarity with outbound logistics and transport coordination
Experience managing returnable transit equipment (RTE) or hired equipment
You enjoy being hands-on and don't mind getting stuck in when needed.
