Location: Central London, five days a week in office for six months, then hybrid three days in office, extensive business travel.

Job status: Permanent

Start date: ASAP

Working hours: Monday to Friday 9 - 5 pm

Who You\'ll Be Working for:

Global raw materials trader.

What You\'ll be Doing Each Day:

New business development is vital beyond core activities/geographies. This position will bring in direct commercial experience of the contemporary Latino business community. It is a growing and important marketplace for many business interests. This recruitment seeks to address the matter directly, to broaden our active sphere of influence for both sourcing and sales.

The role will not be restricted to food activities, but dairy, pulses, oils, grains, nuts, and various technical grade semi- finished food substrates will form a significant element of the overall workload. An affinity with the land, its people, agriculture, and the food raw materials environment is vital.

The role will require frequent travel to farming hinterlands, processing centres, auction market centres, and ports. The successful candidate\xe2\x80\x99s skills will have been acquired at first rate Mercosur or North American agricultural institute. They may well have a farming or estate management background.
  • Field based audit reports
  • Sampling
  • Testing
  • Quality evaluation and commercial negotiation
  • Organise overseas offices to build reliable relationships of trust with suppliers/third party customers
  • Extensive travel within rural environments.
Requirements:
  • International cultural empathy
  • Understanding of South American agriculture
  • Knowledge of South American languages such as Spanish or Portuguese
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong business work ethic, positive attitude and professional behaviour at all times
  • Agriculture science or food Technology background - would be a bonus
  • Worked in soft commodity trading
  • Sourcing experience is essential
