Core Purpose
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager - UK Lead and leading the Supply team, this role will be responsible for management of the site's supply chain process as follows:
Ensuring the right raw materials, consumables and packaging are on site at the right time.
Despatching our finished product on time and to the correct quality standards.
Leading the team ensuring they meet agreed KPI standards and manage according to budget and operational capacity.
Tray logistics, supply, sorting and the Tray Wash function.
Capacity planning and forecasting, and labour planning.
Liaison and communication with Suppliers and Customers.
Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Planning
Management of planning procurement, production, inventory control, internal logistics and distribution to customers and third party storage. Maximising service levels and customer satisfaction, whilst maintaining control of inventory levels. Manage lead times on all procurement requirements.
Ensure team are fully trained to meet the role requirements
Communication
Overall responsibility for ensuring production is planned efficiently, utilizing the plant labour resources available and meeting level of service demanded by the customer. Liaise and collaborate on a regular basis with individual departments to co-ordinate planning and purchasing activities, delivery schedules, establish goals, levels of service required, maintain budgets and drive improvements.
Ensure production forecasts and promotional activity is clearly communicated to all relevant departments in a timely manner which ensures the Bakery is adequately resourced to meet this requirement.
Ensure policies and processes are being followed and adherences to safety standards are maintained.
Cost Reduction and Process Improvement
To regularly review service and raw material costs, identify and communicate service of cost improvement opportunities. Maintain a focus on departmental objectives and translate these into individual actions and goals. Problem solving and attempting to establish root cause and eliminate them. Promote and develop systems used to maximise the business performance of the supply chain function.
SAP Management
System data is maintained and team are fully trained, utilize the system reporting data to review process improvements.
Customer contact
Closely work with key stake holders to support them in the delivery of their objectives ensuring service level agreements and KPI's are achieved. Manage both internal and external supply chain issues.
Stock Management
Ensuring there is enough stock available both internal and externally including packing. Monitoring stock levels and tracking products.
Be comfortable operating in a multi-disciplinary team with a strong focus on customer needs. Moreover you will be hands on manager with the ability to lead from the front.
To undertake any other duties which may be assigned in line with business requirements.
Qualifications:
Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or holder of relevant professional qualification
Skills and Experience:
Computer Skills - SAP, SRM Microsoft packages, Project Management Software
Proven track record within a Supply Chain role
Experience of working in a FMCG environment
Highly numerate with developed analytical skills
