We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-orientated Supply Chain Manager (SCM) to lead and oversee supply chain operations within our life sciences organisation. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with ISO 13485 and the In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation (IVDR), while maintaining efficient, cost-effective, and robust supply chain processes. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for procurement, sales & order processing, supplier management, logistics, inventory control, and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and risk management. The SCM shall ensure governance is in place to measure, and report performance data to demonstrate accuracy, consistency, traceability and departmental objectives, whilst ensuring Health & Safety is embedded into everyday workings. The SCM will also have line management responsibilities, carrying out regular 1-2-1 sessions and providing training guidance.
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Qnostics' core business is focused on the design, development, manufacture and supply of specialised molecular Quality Control products for use in the in vitro diagnostic industry. Based in Glasgow, Qnostics also works with organisations around the world to provide bespoke solutions within an ISO 13485 compliant framework.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the development and execution of supply chain strategies that ensure compliance with
ISO 13485, IVDR, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, and services, ensuring supplier qualification and ongoing monitoring in line with quality system requirements.
Maintain supplier quality management processes, including audits, performance evaluations, and corrective action plans.
Manage end-to-end logistics, warehousing, and distribution while ensuring full traceability of materials and finished products.
Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and R&D teams to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with regulatory and product development requirements.
Develop demand forecasts and inventory management strategies to balance supply continuity with cost optimization.
Lead risk management activities related to supply chain operations, including contingency planning for critical suppliers and components.
Monitor, analyse, and report on supply chain KPIs to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and strengthen compliance.
Lead and mentor a high-performing supply chain team to support business growth and regulatory requirements.
Responsibility to feed into the global planning to enable delivery of high quality products OTIF. Ensuring collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Drive completion of short term departmental planning using the available tools.

OTHER ACTIVITIES:
To undertake any other reasonable duties as required by Qnostics Ltd. On occasion, this role may require travel to and work at other operations within the TQ360 umbrella.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Essential
5+ years' experience in similar type roles.
Stock/ Supply Chain/ Operational management experience within GMP environment.
Proven track record of effective supply chain management and procurement strategies.
Experience of shipping goods globally.
Proven communication and organisational skills
In depth and up to date knowledge of customs rules and regulations.
Ability to scale teams and processes to meet the demands of a growing business.
Must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of health and safety procedures.
Strong and motivational leadership, in a faced paced environment.
Work well under pressure, with the ability to cope with a variety of issues at once.
Possesses attention to detail and a 'right first time' approach.
Strong negotiation and influencing skills at all levels of the business.
Able to demonstrate a collaborative approach to working effectively with multiple functions.
Analytical approach with understanding of KPI measurement
Strong understanding of ERP functionality
Ability to manage workload and prioritise accordingly both autonomously and as part of a team
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Preferred but not essential
The employee will have a scientific background/experience, preferably with some experience of molecular sciences as well as experience of the Diagnostic industry (IVD).
A strong aptitude for working with various software applications and web-based independent courier shipping tools.
Experience with developing ERP/MRP type systems.
Previous Management experience in a highly regulated environment.
Health & Safety qualifications (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH).
PhD/MBA in Supply Chain Management or Scientific discipline.
