Salary:

The starting salary is 68,295, which includes allowances totalling 2,928.


The salary is broken down as 65,367 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale 70,012 Plus, a location allowance of 1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of 1,000.

Met Business Services (MBS) is a new way for the Met to deliver enabling services to all of our officers and staff. MBS is a front-line focused services organisation that sets our people up to succeed, reduces admin, delivers modern user centric end to end solutions and provides a single source of truth for all HR, Finance, Commercial and support services data, providing a critical cornerstone to fix our foundations.


MBS will help every person and supplier working with the Met by:

Building a modern and efficient industry-standard business services directorate, building and pooling key specialist capabilities, strengthening HR, Finance and Commercial functions whilst removing functional silos; Designing end-to-end services, building them the needs of the users rather than in functional process silos and seamlessly integrating them regardless of how they are delivered; and Providing easy-to-use interfaces and 'one-touch' services for end-users that leverage the potential of contemporary technologies like automation and low-code workflows.

The role will rely on building good relationships, utilising your knowledge / experience, and managing internal and external SMEs to deliver real value and change for the organisation. An understanding of industry best practice asset, inventory and supply chain products including Oracle Cloud is key.

Essential For The Role

Experience:



5 years product management or functional experience with at least 2 within asset, inventory and supply chain applications. Experience as a product manager, functional lead or owner preferably within internal product space. Understanding of SaaS based solutions supporting back office services like Oracle Cloud, Tranman or other Fleet Management applications etc would be useful Public Sector is desirable; policing experience is desirable Understanding of project management of technology development and implementations Experience of managing a small team of individuals providing clear direction, support and resolution Understanding of shaping product strategy and product delivery capabilities. Experience in creating technology strategies and roadmaps aligned to business strategies Knowledge of public sector shared services and the challenges they face Managing a functional enhancements team.

Educated to high level. Understanding of SaaS based products Practical knowledge of core end to end services covering across supply chain, inventory and asset management. Knowledge of public sector shared services and the challenges they face Knowledge of Oracle Cloud or ServiceNow technology supporting back office services useful Knowledge of operations of best-in-practice ERP and other industry leading Supply Chain platforms Detailed knowledge of product lifecycles processes including testing & change management

The working arrangement for this role will be 3 days in the office and 2 days work from home.
