Job overview

As Supply Chain Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our 1,000+ pallet cold store and warehouse. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll ensure the efficient flow of goods, maintain high service levels, and lead a team to deliver operational excellence.

Objectives:



Coordinate and oversee all yard deliveries to ensure trucks are tipped efficiently and on schedule, preventing congestion and maintaining smooth yard operations. Achieving Batch Chill Service Level targets (98% day one). Leading a team of forklift drivers (currently 4 operatives). Maintaining delivery efficiency by achieving 4 pallets per minute. Ensuring a safe and tidy warehouse/yard environment at all times.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities



Health & Safety:

Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant cold store and yard, proactively addressing challenges.

Goods-in process:

Ensure daily adherence to procedures, while identifying opportunities for improvement.

Truck management:

Take a proactive approach to tipping trucks promptly to prevent congestion.

Raw material flow:

Manage movement from freezer to factory, ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time.

Stock control:

Support and participate in stock counts, including annual counts, while addressing discrepancies through pallet scanning and cycle counting.

Team leadership:

Lead and motivate forklift drivers, plan breaks around workload, and conduct daily briefings/handovers.

Product movement:

Coordinate transfers between our site and 3PL partners, ensuring manifests are accurate and communicated.

Stock rotation:

Monitor and enforce correct rotation practices, escalating and correcting issues where product is used out of sequence.

Desired Experience:



Valid forklift licence and practical experience. Pivot steer forklift experience (advantageous but not essential). Background in a fast-paced warehouse environment; cold store experience is beneficial. Previous experience in a warehouse team leader or supervisory role. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and tools such as pallet scanning software, cycle counting systems, and inventory databases.

Working Pattern: Rotating shifts:



Week 1: Monday - Friday, 05:30 - 13:30 Week 2: Monday - Friday, 13:00 - 21:00
Flexibility required to cover holidays and meet business demands.
