About the Team



The Fleet Resource & Development Team is a small dynamic team providing support to the wider fire service including non-operational and operational service areas, through procurement, logistical and technical support, warehousing and distribution, and a range of complementary activities.

The Opportunity

Salary:

27,254 to 28,598per annum


Working Pattern:

Full time, 37 hours per week

Based at FRS Workshops, Terminus Road, Chichester

As the Supply Officer (Stores), you will be responsible for the stockholding, upkeep, stock accountability, security, and dispatch of operational equipment, uniform and general stores required to keep WSFRS operating effectively.



You will be required to manage the demands of the stores through flexibility of approach and team working, and able to prioritise work to meet the needs of the Service to meet dispatch requirements. This will require working with minimal supervision.



The purpose of the role is to ensure that the Service has sufficient stores of the right kind, at the right price and at the right time, to enable the Service to meet its operational and day to day requirements.

What are we looking for?



You'll be a great team player who can build and maintain good working relationships and who can communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing. You will be organised, able to prioritise work and deliver on deadlines. With your focus on accuracy and attention to detail you will have strong core administrative / office skills. You will ideally have practical and procedural knowledge of a range of processes and tasks in a stores or similar environment. You will be able to demonstrate your experience of juggling priorities, and your ability to work under your own initiative with minimal supervision.




Being both adaptable and flexible, you will enjoy the challenge this role will give you to meet service needs, where you will be able to work well in changing situations and embrace new ways of working, both positively and effectively.



The role is an active one, and can involve standing for long periods. You will need to be able to lift and carry heavy items when loading/unloading from stores. A Category B driving licence is also essential.
