Overview

We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable male Live-In Carer to provide support to a client in need of daily assistance. This position requires a carer who can meet the specific personal care needs of our client, where a male carer is preferred due to the nature of the care required. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for helping others, particularly those with experience in home care, nursing homes, or specialised care settings.

Responsibilities

A holder of British sign language certificate level 2

Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support clients with mobility and transfers to ensure their safety. Assist with meal preparation and dietary needs, ensuring nutritional requirements are met. Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those experiencing dementia or behavioural challenges. Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to hygiene standards. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.

Experience

Previous experience in caregiving, home care, or nursing home settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with dementia care and behaviour management techniques is an advantage. Basic knowledge of first aid practices is beneficial. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary. Experience in childcare may also be relevant for those caring for younger clients or families.
